With iron and copper chelating ability, this extract is a perfect complement for chrysin in the treatment of dark under-eye circles. Amla helps protect the skin from the damaging effects of free radicals, and metal-induced oxidative stress. Amla has become an important anti-age topical ingredient. In the past the health benefits of amla were attributed to ascorbic acid (vitamin C), but later amla crucial chemicals were found to be polyphenols (tannins), gallic acid and ellagic acid (linked together to form other tannins), and rutin.

Amla extract has been found to have chemopreventive acitivity, i.e. the capacity to prevent cancer brought about by chemical cancer causing agents.

Properties: antioxidant (hydrophilic), one of the three components of Trifala, a rejuvenating formula in Ayurvedic medicine.

Use: we suggest you add one teaspoon to 4 oz. of cream or lotion and mix well. You can also add to shampoo and bath gel to help chelate metals present in tap water.
