Present in the leaves of the bearberry, use of pure arbutin in skin care
products is patented and licensed, limiting choice and increasing the price of
the products containing it.
Use: arbutin
is used at 5% in Shiseido Whitess. We will send you 6 grams of pure arbutin,
enough to convert 4 oz. of cream or lotion into a 5% arbutin product. However,
we suggest a concentration of 1.5% and use of other skin lighteners like kojic
acid, betulinic acid and niacinamide to target several steps of melanin
synthesis and obtain best results, as different actives will work at different
steps of the melanin synthesis and delivery pathway. Add one teaspoon to 4 oz.
of cream or lotion and mix. The powder will not dissolve immediately but will
release components slowly into the cream/lotion.
