Arctostaphylos uva-ursi (uva-ursi means bearberry in Latin) a veritable
pharmacy! Contains arbutin (inhibitor of melanin synthesis, we also sell this as
a pure chemical), allantoin (anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, keratolytic),
betulinic acid (skin lightener, anticancer, we also sell this as a pure
chemical), ellagic acid (cancer preventive), lupeol (antioxidant,
antiinflammatory), gallic acid (antibacterial), ursolic acid (anticancer) and
many more.
This is the natural and less expensive way of adding Arbutin to your cream, found in Shiseido Whitess.
Use: add a quarter teaspoon to some cream and mix. The powder
will not dissolve completely but will release components slowly into the cream
or lotion.
