This is Terminalia chebula extract enriched in ellagic acid. Terminalia chebula is, like Amla (Phyllantus emblica) a component of Trifala, an anti-age ingredient in Ayurvedic medicine. Ellagic acid, also present in pomegranate and raspberries, has some great properties, including antiviral and antibacterial. Ellagic acid helps our skin prevent the mutagenic action of some environmental pollutants. It also helps prevent the formation of sun spots by UV.

Properties: antioxidant, cancer preventive, anti-inflammatory, use in melasma and hyperpigmentation.

 

Use: add one quarter teaspoon to 4 oz. of cream or lotion and mix. The powder will not dissolve immediately but will release components slowly into the cream/lotion.
