Skin Actives Ingredient

Escin (aescin), a bioflavonois, is the active chemical in horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum) extract responsible for some of its medicinal properties. Centuries ago, horse chestunt have been used to ameliorate varicose veins in the leg, hemorrhoids and phlebitis. The horse chestunt from Skin Actives Scientific can be used topically to help with varicose veins, swelling, oxidative stress.

Regarding the skin itself, escin inhibits elastase and hyaluronidase, preserving the structure and volume of the dermis matrix. Rutin, another chemical present in horse chestnut extract, also strengthen fragile capillaries, working synergistically with escin to promote vascular health.

Use: add 1 teaspoon to 4 oz. of cream or lotion and mix. We suggest using Centella asiatica powder in the same lotion for added effect. The powder will not dissolve immediately but will release components slowly into the cream or lotion.

Properties: capillary health and spider veins, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant. Possible alleviation of hemorrhoids.
