The job of this glycosaminoglycan is to stabilize the intercellular (between cells) space, particularly in connective tissue. Unfortunately our dermis loses thickness as we age, in part because we lose hylauronic acid, so it is a good idea to stop this thinning of the dermis Because of its water holding capacity having this active in your creams, lotions, gels or serums will help keep our skin moist. Also, hyaluronidase in the skin will breal it down and the sugars released will be used to make new hyaluronic acid in our dermis. Great active!!!!

Use: hyaluronic acid can be added to any cream, gel or lotion for moisturizing effect or to thicken a mixture. Add some powder to the aqueous product you wish to "boost" and mix. Keep the active (in its closed container) in a cool dry place until ready to use. Be careful when using HA in a cream or other mixture as it is tricky to get the quantities correct, using too much may spoil a cream.

 

Properties: polysaccharide capable of holding large amounts of water, important constituent of dermis matrix. Can be used to thicken a base cream or lotion.

Use entire tube in 4oz. of cream to make 1% solution.
