The paste of the root has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for topical use in the treatment of skin diseases, skin discoloration, inflammations, and ulcers.

Alizarin (5-alpha-reductase-inhibitor; antileukemic; antimutagenic; antioxidant) and mollugin (antiallergic, anti-inflammatory, protects against mast cell degranulation) are two of the chemicals present in this extract.

Usage

Each tube is enough for 32 fl oz of cream or lotion at approximately 0.5% concentration (5 g in 960 mL cream). Use in your favorite cream or add to our Canvas Base Cream or a Sea Kelp Bioferment base. The powder will not dissolve completely but will release components slowly into the cream or lotion.
