Hydrolyzed Keratin

Keratin is a fibrous and water-insoluble protein, the main constituent of hair, nails, feathers, etc. in vertebrates. It’s also found in spider silk. To use keratin in hair and skincare products is necessary to break it down into small pieces, amino acids and peptides, by heating it up in acidified water. Note: not suitable for vegans.
