If there is one thing that we have learned over the past two years, it’s that being able to sit at home and be quietly content with ourselves is invaluable. Consider this however, what if your hobby time made all the more healthy by making your own skin care products. What is Collagen Peptide 24 Moisturizer

There’s a name brand company out there that is selling a product they are calling Collagen Peptide 24 Moisturizer. Maybe you have seen their advertisements on the television, and you know all about what it purports to do.

For those of us who haven’t been paying as much attention, here is the long and short of it: with the ingredients that are included in the cream your skin is supposed to be hydrated for 24 hours. That’s a nice idea but you really have to wonder where they came up with that number. But we won’t get into it here, Dr. Sivak has already discussed this cream on her personal blog, you can find her thoughts here.

While Dr. Sivak thinks you’d be better off going with our Collagen Serum or Epidermal Growth Factor for collagen production and cell renewal, what if you still want to chase that 24 hour moisturizing goal?

Well, we made a little DIY project out of it so you can give it a shot at home! Give it a try and see what you think. 

Collagen Peptide 24 Moisturizer by….You!

So, how would you go about creating 24 hours of moisturizing potential? Let’s see what we can do with some of Skin Actives’ great DIY Ingredients.

For this project you’ll want to assemble these ingredients:

• 4oz European Cream

• 6g Niacinamides

• 1 vial Palmitoyl Pentapeptides

• And one of the following: 4oz Sea Kelp Coral or or New 10mL DIY Tremella Gel

Before you begin:

Keep in mind that you’ll be adding active ingredients to a 4 oz Cream, this means that the final product will likely exceed the volume of the 4oz container that your European Cream came in. It might be a good idea to have either a larger jar to deposit your final cream into, or a second jar for any additional cream you produce.

Skin Actives jars are both recyclable and reusable! At Skin Actives we’re doing our best to prepare with you for the world ahead. When you’re done with your Skin Actives pre-made product, wash out the plastic container and recycle it or set it aside to use again for a DIY project like this one.

Blending your formula:

1. Empty your European Cream into a clean mixing bowl.
2. Add in the 6 grams of Niacinamides and stir. Niacinamides are a crystal so they may take some time to absorb into the European Base Cream.
3. When you have reached a nice consistency, add in either Sea Kelp Coral or DIY Tremella Gel. These will help you create a smooth, gel-like texture to your finished product in addition to the active benefits from either. Start with a small amount and work up adding a little bit at a time until you have reached a consistency you are pleased with.
4. Finally, add in your vial of Palmitoyl Pentapeptides. We’re adding this last because it’s a protein and its chemical structure is more delicate than the others that we’ve added. Stir it in gently.
5. Now you’ve got your new cream. Put it in your container and it’s ready to use!
